Carson City Sheriff deputies found more than 5 pounds of marijuana during a Friday traffic stop.
Two men were traveling eastbound on Highway 50 West in a rental car from California when deputies pulled it over because it was doing 30 mph in a 50 mph zone.
Deputies stopped the car at Clearview Drive and South Carson Street where the driver, John Delaney, 25, exited and agreed to a search of the car. Deputies also learned Delaney had a suspended driver's license.
Inside the car, deputies found five large bags of marijuana, amounting to 5 pounds, 7 ounces.
Delaney allegedly told deputies the marijuana was his and was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and possession of over one ounce of marijuana, both felonies. He also was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor driving with a suspended driver's license.
Bail was set at $18,132.
