RENO (AP) - Friends and family held a memorial service in Reno to remember a 41-year-old TV sports director killed in a hit-and-run crash after covering a college football game.

KTVN-TV reports the service for JT Metzker was held Friday afternoon at Our Lady of the Snows church.

Police say Metzker died after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing a busy street late Saturday near the University of Nevada, Reno football stadium. He had just covered the Nevada-Hawaii game.

Police say 23-year-old Ryan Rhea of Sparks was arrested on a felony hit-and-run causing death charge.

Metzker worked at KTVN Channel 2 for 14 years.

He leaves behind his wife, Jaimie, and three young sons.
