Replico Corp., a logistics company headquartered in Gilroy, Calif.,
will move to a 150,000-square-foot distribution facility in Reno next month.
The company expects to initially hire 10 fulltime workers for the facility, where it will consolidate and enlarge packaging and distribution functions currently operating in Gilroy.
It also will use a temporary flexible workforce of 30 to 60 people to meet demand in its shipping and assembly operations. Westaff Personnel in Reno has contracted to provide those workers.
Michael Whitehead, president and chief executive of Replico, said some long-tenured staff will make the move from Gilroy to Reno.
"It was a difficult decision to move operations to Reno, but the cost savings and logistics were compelling," Whitehead said.
Replico Corp. provides supply-chain services to clients in the cable TV, technology, education, publishing and financial sectors. Services include printing, packaging, procurement, CD manufacturing, assembly, kitting, storage, order management and reverse logistics.
It also operates facilities at Kansas City, Mo., and Charlotte, N.C.
The company was founded in 1999 and has made the Inc 5000 magazine listing as one of the country's fastest-growing private companies for the past four consecutive years.
Its new facility in Stead was formerly occupied by PetSmart.
Replico was represented in the lease transaction by Paul Perkins of Perkins Company Nevada Ltd. and Ed Mendence of Sperry Van Ness/SV Advisors. The landlord, Imelda Reno LLC, was represented by the NAI Alliance industrial team of Dave Simonsen, J. Michael Hoeck, Dan Oster and Michael Nevis.
