Carson City residents can show support for their elected officials and give them a hearty cheer by joining the fun at Pinkerton Ballet Theatre's 23rd annual production of "The Nutcracker Ballet."
"Each of the production's special guest performers bring their own persona to characterize Mother Gigogne, the flamboyant and comedic lady with all the children coming out from under her skirt," said Director Gail Ruff.
Tonight's 7 p.m. show will find Mayor Bob Crowell mixing things up, while Sheriff Ken Furlong will be in the driver's seat on Saturday night. Assessor Dave Dawley will take the stage in Sunday's 2 p.m. performance.
In addition to these special guest performers, and many other Northern Nevada dancers, Pinkerton Ballet Theatre will present Rachel Speidel Little from the Oakland Ballet as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Matthew Linzer, who comes from Smuin Ballet in San Francisco, as the Cavalier.
Tickets are $22 for ages 13 through adult; $18 for seniors 60 and older; and $18 for children 12 and younger. They are available at Carson City Florist, 1954 E. William St. or by calling 775-887-1717.
Group discounts are also offered, and tickets will be available at the door starting 90 minutes before each performance. All tickets are re-served seating and non-refundable.
