Jim DeVolld and Chris Howard of Reno have been named as charter members of the board of directors of the Nevada Capital Investment Corp.
DeVolld, former president and chief executive of First Independent Bank of Nevada, was appointed by Gov. Brian Sandoval and will serve as vice chair of the board.
Howard is a principal in Northstar Investors and director of entrepreneurial initiatives at the University of Nevada, Reno. He was appointed by State Sen. Mike McGinness.
The board will oversee a new private equity fund that will invest a portion of the State Permanent School Fund in Nevada businesses.
