Dorothy Poole, a 40 year resident of Carson City, died October 13 in her home in Carson City. She was 99 years old. She is survived by one sister, one son, a grand daughter, and 4 great grand children. Dorothy and her husband Bob ran Capital Travel in Carson for many years. Before they opened the agency, she was an Avon lady.
Dorothy was a woman who loved life and loved her independence. She always did things her way in spite of what the general rule of thumb dictated. She was a true free spirit, a devoted wife and mother. She accepted people as they were, never judged or blamed. She created a life for herself and her family that was truly unique.
There are to be no funeral services, but a celebration of life will take place at her home at 1315 Angels Camp Dr. on Saturday November 26 at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
As a final tribute from her daughter-in-law, "She was the most incredible and unique character I've ever met." She will be sorely missed.
