The Carson City Sheriff's Office is investigating the discovery of a woman's body found down an embankment in the hills of East Carson City this afternoon by a scrap metal hunter.
Officers were called out the area three miles from Deer Run Road about 3:30 p.m.
When they arrived on scene, they discovered the woman's shoeless body lying some 90 feet down the embankment from the rugged dirt road.
Evidence at the scene indicates foul play, said Sheriff Ken Furlong.
Furlong said the woman, who appears to be in her late 20s early 30s, had no identification on her. He said investigators will work through the night in an effort to identify her.
