A 26-year-old Sparks man was jailed Sunday in the death of Cherissa Davidson whose body was found three miles in the hills off Deer Run Road early Saturday.
According to the Sparks Police Department, Brian Hobbs, 26, is being held on suspicion of murder with a deadly weapon.
Davidson's body was discovered about 3:30 p.m. some 90 feet down a steep embankment in Brunswick Canyon.
She had no identification on her and was identified through fingerprints on Saturday, according to Sheriff Ken Furlong.
An autopsy Saturday morning determined Davidson had been stabbed 11 times. Found near her body was tarp believed to have been used to conceal her body.
In the search for Davidson's 3-month-old son Sparks officers and Carson City Sheriff's detectives went to Davidson's Sparks home Saturday afternoon, according to a press release.
There they found Hobbs, with whom Davidson was having a relationship, and the child unharmed.
Following an interview with Hobbs, officers received a search warrant for the home.
"Through evidence found at the residence and other information, detectives were able to determine that Hobbs was responsible for the death of Davidson," the release states.
Hobbs is being held without bail.
