Robyn Elizabeth Harney Dunn, age 86, passed away at her home in LaPine, Oregon, on September 1, 2011. She was born to a pioneer Nevada family in Elko, October 30, 1925. She lived in Wells, Nevada until the family moved to Carson City in 1936. After she graduated from Carson High School in 1943, she enlisted in the US Navy. She married Beverly "Toby" Dunn after the War and raised her three children in southern California before moving back to Carson City where she worked for the Carson City Parks and Recreation Department.
She was preceded in death by her father Phil Harney, mother Anna Truett Harney, her brothers and sisters Oma Schmidt, Evelyn Ogilvie, Howard Harney, Merlyn Ogilvie, Donald Harney and Gordon Harney. She is survived by her three children, Michael Dunn of Arizona, Geoffrey Dunn (Marsha) of Riverside County, California, daughter Christine Dunn of Oregon, her sister Peggy Glover of Carson City, eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 11:00am at the Veterans section of Lone Mountain Cemetery.
