The Carson City Sheriff's Office is investigating a rash of broken vehicle windows that occurred late Sunday night or early Monday morning.

According to Sheriff's Office records, 12 reports of broken windows were filed between 5:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday. The damage occurred while the vehicles were parked on city streets.

There were two reports on La Loma Drive, and one report each on Sherman Lane, Pheasant Drive, Panamint Road, Highway 50 East, Kit Sierra Way, Furnace Creek Drive, Silver Sage Drive, Ponderosa Drive, Halleck Drive and Kingsley Lane.

"We are looking into each of these incidents as one," said Sheriff Ken Furlong.

It was not known whether the windows were shot out with a BB or pellet gun, or hit with an object.

One report from Silver Sage Drive indicated the caller found a small hole in the pieces of glass he picked up, suggesting a pellet gun was used.
