Six finalists have been named in the inaugural "Healthiest Places to Work" event that's part of The Chamber's fourth annual Healthcare Forum.
Small-employer finalists include Planned Parenthood and the American Lung Association offices in Reno.
The Glenn Group and Reno Diagnostic Centers are finalists among medium-sized employers, and The Children's Cabinet and International Game Technology are finalists among large employers.
Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the forum, which is scheduled Oct. 12 at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.
Sarah Sommers, volunteer chair of the event, said the finalists have undertaken a variety of cost-efficient strategies to encourage employees to stay healthy and keep a good work-life balance.
"They're amazing, just amazing," said Sommers, a partner in Solutions at Work, a Reno human-resources consulting firm.
Finalists were selected after a nominations process that included review by human resources and health professionals and a survey of the employees of nominated companies.
