We lost a great husband, friend and a Viet Nam veteran. Born in Dothan, Alabama, he moved to California with his family at age 10, before becoming a Carsonite 14 years ago.

He was married to the love of his life, Donna, for a short 14 1/2 years.

Fred had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful mentor. Fred lived his live with love, decency, kindness and was respected by all that knew him. He enjoyed his volunteer work for MADD and the State Museum in Carson City and he enjoyed a round of golf once a week with friends. Fred had a great education, a masters degree in Education and a secondary in History and English, while working for the forester Division in Idaho. When he finished college, he went into Rockwell, then Hughes as a Buyer, then Polyphaser until he retired.

Fred was predeceased by his parents, James Edward Campbell, Sr., mother Gwendolyn Cranberry Campbell; and he is survived by his wife, Donna; brother, James Edward Campbell, Jr. and wife, Maxine, of West Virginia and sister, Alisha, of California.

Services will be held at Saint Teresa on April 28, 2012 at 10:00 am.
