Andriola named CEO of chapter of American Red Cross

Clara Andriola has been named the chief executive officer of The Northern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross effective Sept. 4.

Andriola was formerly the president and CEO of the associated Builders and Contractors.

Caroline Punches, former CEO, retired June 29 after eight and a half years with the Red Cross.

Cardinal receives CPA license

Sophia Raphael Cardinal recently received her Certified Public Accountant's license through the Nevada State Board of Accountancy.

Cardinal graduated from Carson High School in 2006. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2010 with a degree in accounting.

Cardinal currently works at a public accounting firm in Reno where she specializes in tax and audit.

WNC Child Development Center receives grant

Children's Cabinet and Nevada Early Intervention Services have contributed funds to assist the Western Nevada College Child Development Center. The center serves children whose parents attend the college, community children and those with special needs.

A $550 grant from the Children's Cabinet and a $400 allocation from Nevada Early Intervention Services will help the center purchase new classroom materials and open a second toddler classroom this year.

Carson City resident recognized for support, leadership

Tom Baker of Carson City recently received the Award of Excellence for his work with University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. Baker, chairman of the cooperative extension advisory committee, won the award in the category of UNCE supporter.

Baker has worked with cooperative extension for many years beginning when he was a rural representative for Sen. Richard Bryan. He was an advocate of UNCE efforts to educate the public on management of the Carson River and its watershed.

Baker was elected the chair of the first UNCE Advisory Committee in 2001. He has lobbied lawmakers and university representatives in an effort to preserve state funding for UNCE.

Stephanie Allen moves to Reno office

Stephanie Hardie Allen, a partner at Kaempfer Crowell, has relocated to the law firm's Reno office.

Allen has been with the Las Vegas office since 2004. She represents local and national developers, home builders, property owners and individuals on land use, zoning and real estate matters in Nevada. She appears before local governmental boards and commissions on issues related to land use entitlements, development agreements, inter-local agreements, government contracts and property tax appeals.

Complete Millwork Services wins bid for 49ers Stadium

Complete Millwork Services Inc. has been awarded the millwork bid packages for the 49ers Stadium project in Santa Clara, Calif.

Work includes interior millwork finishes at all private clubs, bars, team locker rooms, owner suites, and administrative areas.

Pendyala joins Gastroenterology Consultants

Swaroop Pendyala has joined Gastroenterology Consultants' Carson City office as a physician.

Dr. Pendyala recently completed a three-year fellowship in gastroenterology at Columbia University in New York City. He received his medical education and completed his first year of residency training at Christian Medical College in Vellore, India. He completed his second and third year of residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, and Columbia University.

Dr. Pendyala earned master's degree in clinical and translational science from the Rockefeller University in New York City.

Chromalloy wins contract from U.S. Navy

Chromalloy Gas Turbine Corp. of Carson City won a contract from the U.S. Navy worth $52,779 to repair nozzles used in turbine engines.
