The Bureau of Land Management said last week commercial harvesters paid a total of $2,100 to harvest 8,400 pounds of pine nuts in the Elko and Ely areas.
The commercial bidders bid 25 cents a pound, but the BLM does guarantee that they will be able to harvest as many pounds as they paid for.
Members of the public can harvest up to 25 pounds of pine nuts per person for free.
