A 16-year-old Carson City girl was flown to the Renown Regional Medical Center after she was ejected from and rolled onto by her car Monday afternoon.
Her condition was unknown Monday night.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, witnesses said the girl drove north through a red light on Carson Street at the intersection with Koontz Lane at 3:16 p.m.
NHP Sgt. James Simpson said a red car, driving through the intersection, grazed the driver's side of the teen's car, causing her car to roll.
The girl was ejected from the driver's side window and her call rolled onto her. She was taken by CareFlight Helicopter from the scene.
Her passenger walked away from the accident, as did the driver of the second vehicle.
The girl was driving at "a good rate of speed" when she went through the red right, Simpson said.
Koontz lane was closed and Carson Street going north was reduced to a single lane at the intersection and was reopened by 6:30 p.m.
Simpson said the cause of the crash is under investigation. Authorities did not name the girl.
