The usually quiet village of Empire is getting to be quite disreputable in the matter of street brawls and bar fights. On Wednesday a man named Laws was severely beaten by another while playing cards all night. The under man in the fight may lose his life.

The members of the Nevada Press Association meet in Reno today where they will talk over the present conditions of the Nevada editors and outlook. As a campaign is forming and the boys are going to demand some legislation for the printers and newspapers it is time they get busy.
