Symphony’s Holiday Treat Concert set for Sunday afternoon

Seasonal strains of music will fill the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center on Sunday when the Carson City Symphony performs at the 29th Holiday Treat Concert. Pre-concert entertainment begins at 3 p.m. in the lobby and the concert starts at 4 p.m. The musicians will be joined on the program by the newly formed Carson City Symphony Chorus and the Victorian Dancers.The symphony, conducted by Music Director and Conductor David Bugli, will perform seasonal fare that includes Christmas and Hanukkah music. Norma Conway’s Victorian Dancers will perform to music by Johann Strauss Jr.The chorus, under the direction of choral conductor Michael Langham, will perform “Fantasia on Christmas Carols,” “All Is Well,” and an arrangement of “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer.” Performers and the audience will join together at the end for the concert’s traditional “A Christmas Singalong.”Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for seniors, students and symphony association members. Children 16 and younger are welcomed without charge. Blood donors by Saturday also are admitted free.
