GameTech International Inc. of Reno said last week its management is studying possible business combinations or more sales of company assets to stay afloat.

The maker of electronic bingo systems and video lottery games said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it won't have enough cash to meet its needs in the next year unless sales pick up.

The company's debt totaled $16.6 million at the start of this year, and its auditors said there is "significant uncertainty" about the ability of GameTech to weather the storms.

In its most recent fiscal year, the company lost $6.4 million on sales of $30.8 million.

At the end of 2011, it sold its South Meadows office and production building to Kassbohrer All Terrain Vehicles Inc. for $6.125 million.

GameTech had invested $10.8 in the purchase and improvement of the building, which it bought in 2008.
