Hamilton Company, a Reno-based maker of precision liquid-handling systems for use in laboratories and similar applications, said last week it continues to work with a subsidiary pharmaceutical giant Roche to develop automated laboratory systems.
The companies are rolling out a new automated system for the enrichment of DNA samples. The technology replaces five hours of manual work with a completely automatic system.
More automated systems are under development in collaboration with 454 Life Sciences, a Roche company, Hamilton executives said in a press release.
Roche is headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. Along with its headquarters in Reno, Hamilton operates a research and production facility at Bonaduz, Switzerland.
