(AP) - Nevada's U.S. House delegation has re-introduced a bipartisan measure to transfer some federal lands to three southern Nevada colleges for campus expansions.
The Southern Nevada Higher Education Land Act would convey parcels owned by the Bureau of Land Management to Great Basin College, College of Southern Nevada and University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
The parcels include 285 acres in Pahrump for Great Basin College; 40 acres in North Las Vegas for College of Southern Nevada; and about 2,000 acres in Las Vegas for UNLV.
Nevada Republican Reps. Joe Heck and Mark Amodei and Democratic Rep. Shelley Berkley are co-sponsors of the bill.
Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid and Republican Sen. Dean Heller also support the measure.
