Cynthia passed away on January 1, 2012 at the age of 70 following her brave battle with lung cancer. The daughter of Merton "Doc" Mathews and Rachel Mathews, Cyndie is survived by her husband of 46 years, Lee Carter, their two sons, Scott and Richard, and their four grandchildren.

Cyndie was born in Hollywood, CA, and after attending college met her soon-to-be husband, Lee, at the Andrew Jergens Company in Burbank, CA, during their first day on the job. Always the quintessential Navy wife, Cyndie proudly and courageously moved her family around the Western United States, including Aleutian Island of Adak, Alaska ~ one of her favorite homes! Cyndie and her husband primarily raised their family in Monterey and the Northern California Bay Area. Cyndie, who always enjoyed working in an office environment, worked at the Hawley, Stowers and Associates architect firm and TIW Systems in San Jose, California. In 1990, after Lee's retirement from the Navy, Cyndie and Lee settled in Carson City, Nevada where she enjoyed her work at the law firm of Ken Jordan, Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, and the Assembly of the Nevada Legislature. A loving wife and mother, warm and welcoming hostess, wonderful cook, and a cutthroat gin player, she also loved nature, such as feeding the quail in her yard, observing the wild animals of the area, watching the sunset each evening with Lee, California coast vacations, and frogs.

By all who knew her, Cyndie will be eternally missed and always remembered.
