Political strategist Karl Rove and Wall Street Journal writer Stephen Moore headline the 20th annual Directions 2012 Economic Forum.
Directions 2012, the largest business event in northern Nevada, is set for 7:30 a.m. until noon Feb. 2 at the Grand Sierra Resort-Silver State Pavilion. About 800 people have attended Directions events in past years.
The event is sponsored by The Chamber.
Along with Rove, a native of Sparks who is now a high-profile political strategist, and Moore, the Wall Street Journal's senior economics writer, speakers will include:
* Tom Clark, chief executive officer of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corp.
* Dan Klaich, chancellor of the Nevada System of Higher Education.
* Gov. Brian Sandoval.
Moore was scheduled to appear at the Directions event two years ago, but was prevented from traveling to Reno by a fierce snowstorm on the East Coast.
Registration, networking, vendor exhibits and a continental breakfast will open Directions 2012 at 7 a.m. with the program beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Registration is available online at www.thechambernv.org or by calling The Chamber at 636-9550.
The cost in advance is $80 for chamber members, $120 for non-members and $40 for full time students.
Special package pricing and sponsorships with exhibit opportunities are available by contacting Emily Garcia at 775.636.9551 or egarcia@thechambernv.org.
