Shannon Beets has been promoted to executive vice president and provost of Sierra Nevada College, a private school in Incline Village.
Beets has worked at the college since 2006 in positions including registrar, dean of enrollment services, assistant provost, associate provost for graduate programs and, most recently, vice president of institutional effectiveness.
She earned a bachelor's degree in religion and philosophy from the University of La Verne and master's degree in women's studies in religion from Claremont Graduate University.
