James Richard Gooding, 74, died on June 20, 2012, in Portland, Oregon, surrounded by family. Jim was born in Muncie, Indiana, on January 16, 1938, the son of Herbert & Jeanne Gooding. He was married in Klamath Falls to Anne Elizabeth Lancaster and married for 48 wonderful years until her death in 2008. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Chapman College and worked at Johns Manville in HR for many years before retiring in Carson City, Nevada. In the Masonic community there he was Master of the Masonic Lodge, Worthy Patron of Eastern Star and Rainbow Dad for the Rainbow Girls in Carson City. He was active in the Presbyterian Church and was an elected elder in his church in Savannah, Georgia, as well as a member of both the Presbyterian and Methodist congregations in Carson City.
He is survived by his children, Barrat Gooding, Amy Crates & Kate Ramey; his brothers, Dale & Dave Gooding; his grandchildren, Shannon & Heather Crates and Stuart & Brittany Gooding, as well as friends and family who knew and loved him. His community service, dedication to family and integrity will be missed but never forgotten. A memorial will be held at the end of summer in Phoenix, Oregon.
