Garrett Lepire joins Coldwell Banker Select Group in Carson City

Garrett Lepire has joined the Coldwell Banker Select Group Real Estate office in Carson City. Lepire has been a Realtor for 12 years. He has been put into a management role with Coldwell Banker Select, working with management to create and lead a training and mentorship program for young professionals that are interested in real estate as a career.

Lepire has firsthand experience about joining real estate at a young age; he earned his license a month before he graduated high school.  

"Real estate is my passion. I enjoy working with people, real estate design and construction, and the art of sales. I decided to join Select Group Real Estate because of the educational opportunities, brand recognition, and marketing support and materials," he said.

Lepire will be working at the Select Group Real Estate office, 123 West Second St.

Sandi Smith earns broker's license

Sandi Smith of "The Smith Team" at Lake Side Properties in Carson City recently earned her real estate broker's license. Smith is past president of the Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors. She has more than 15 years in real estate experience in Northern Nevada.

She is also the recipient of the 2011 Realtor of the Year Award and a graduate of the Nevada Association of Realtors Leadership program. Additionally, she holds several special certifications and designations including certified residential specialist, short sale foreclosure resource, and senior real estate specialist.

Smith has been business partners with her oldest daughter, Kari Breuer, for the past 12 years.

Carson City Chamber executive committee, board

Stan Jones of The Purple Avocado will be installed next week as chairman of the executive committee of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce for 2012-2013.

Other officers to be installed include Lisa Stirgus of Wells Fargo Bank, first vice chairman; Gil Yanuck of AARP, second vice-chairman, Terrie McNutt of Holiday Inn Express & Suites, secretary-treasurer; and Court Cardinal of Casino Fandango, immediate past chair.

Plumbing franchise opens

A franchised location of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing has been opened in Reno by Greg Hawthorne.

D&D Roofing gets jobs

D&D Roofing and Sheet Metal has won contracts for 16 new job totaling $3.2 million.

Projects in Reno include Sun Valley Elementary School, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport checkpoint, Regional Transportation Commission headquarters, UNR Howard Medical and Reno Tahoe Airport Authority tenant building.

Other projects include Mitchell Elementary School in Sparks; Empire Elementary School, Carson Valley Middle School and Greatwide Transportation in Carson City; a Walmart store in Gardnerville; the Fallon water treatment plant; the Tonopah Conservation Center; the Tahoe Lake Elementary School at Tahoe City; and Nevada State Bank, East End Mall and Sierra Pacific Power building in Elko.
