Business owners will learn to create their own apps for wireless devices in a course through Truckee Meadows Community College.

Dan Belhassen, an expert in digital marketing, will conduct the online course, "Creating Cell Phone Apps for Your Business," through TMCC's Workforce Development and Continuing Education. The class runs July 2-27 and is part of a three-course curriculum in mobile marketing certification.

The course will teach students how their companies can benefit from the use of mobile applications. Students also will create a mobile app.

Belhassen, along with his associate, Susan Hurrell, will explain security implications of mobile apps, native versus web-based applications, usage tracking, options for monetization and app-store publishing requirements.

Belhassen is founder of an Internet marketing company that serves clients throughout North America. Hurrell is marketing specialist with the firm.

Students can register for the online class at wdce.tmcc.edu or by calling WDCE at 775-829-9010. Cost is $245.
