Obituary: Max Faylor

Max Faylor passed away February 28, 2012 at Mountain Springs Assisted Living Center in Carson City. Max was born Nov. 8, 1920 in Arkansas City, Kansas.

In 1942, Max married Pauline Rebol and in 1956 they moved from Salt Lake City to Carson City to join other family members and raise their young family.

At that time Max joined the Carson City Police Department and later worked for the Carson City Nugget as their first Security Officer. He also served as a City Councilman.

Max and his brother, Harold, built, owned and operated the first convalescent center in the city, The Capital Convalescent Center on Highway 50.

In his retirement years, Max enjoyed painting and many of his paintings were displayed in the Carson City area. He also was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge of Carson City.

Max was well known for his friendly personality and great sense of humor.

Max was predeceased by his wife, Pauline, in March 2011. He is survivied by his son, Lynn Faylor; daughter, Jeanne Killian and husband Ed; grandsons, Beau Faylor, Max Faylor and Michael Killian; granddaughters, Shyra Barnes, Andrea Andersen and Michelle Killian. He also is survived by nine great-grand children.

There will be a celebration of Max's life to be announced at a later date.
