A longtime commercial real estate team in Reno has become affiliated with Avison Young, a fast-growing Canadian firm.
Eleven brokers and three staff members previously affiliated with Grubb & Ellis NCG in Reno changed their allegiance to Avison Young.
John Pinjuv, who was president of Grubb & Ellis|NCG, becomes managing director of the Avison Young office in Reno.
A 30-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry in Nevada, he came to Reno in 1984 to join Real Properties Ltd. In 1995, he launched Nevada Commercial Group, which became Grubb & Ellis|NCG a year later.
Brokers making the move include Mark Krueger, senior vice president in the land division; Chris Coombs, an associate in the land division; Tad Loran, a senior associate in the retail division; Ashley Lawson, an associate in the retail division; Rick LaMay, a vice president in the investment division; Gregory Shutt, a vice president in the industrial division; Chris Fairchild, a senior associate in the industrial division; David Schuster, a senior vice-president in the industrial division; and Don Welsh and Reed Simmons, vice presidents in the office division.
Staff members joining Avison Young are Erin Krueger, business operations manager and marketing manager; and marketing coordinators Breanne Bringle and Ashley Young.
The office remains at 985 Damonte Ranch Parkway.
Toronto-based Avison Young entered the Nevada market in November when it brought on Joseph Kupiec of Las Vegas to build its brokerage business in the state.
The company operates 27 offices in Canada and the United States. It's the largest Canadian-owned real estate brokerage in North America.
