Adams wins Job Corps contract

Adams and Associates of South Meadows won a $17.4 million contract to operate the Kittrell Job Corps Center in Kittrell, N.C.

Adams and Associates will provide academic, career technical, social skills and career development training for an estimated 300 male and female residential students, as well as about 50 non-residential students. Adams and Associates also will provide residential housing services to the facility. In addition to managing the facility, Adams and Associates will hire and recruit Job Corps staff and provide site security.

The contract, which begins June 1, is for a base of two years, with three one-year options.

Adams and Associates works primarily with centers that provide services to low-income and at-risk youth. President Roy Adams founded the company in 1990. The company has several thousand full and part-time and contracted employees, with additional corporate offices in Columbia, Md. and Worcester, Mass.
