Arnold L. Wetzstein, 93, a resident Of Carson City, NV since 1977 passed away May 17, 2012 in Carson City. Arnold was born April 3, 1919 in Sioux City, Iowa to Ernest and Clara Wetzstein. He is retired from the U.S. Army having served in three wars. Arnold served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, he made nineteen convoy trips to the United Kingdom. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict with the 1st Calvary Division from 1950 to 1951. During the Vietnam War Arnold was an engineering officer aboard a troop transport ship. Arnold belongs to several military service organizations including the Military Officer's Association, Korean War Veteran's Association, the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.
Arnold has been an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Carson City.
Left to cherish Arnold's memory is his wife of 32 years, Elfriede; 3 children from a previous marriage, daughter, Clara Mulvany; sons, David and William. Also six stepchildren, Eveline, Brunhilde, Iris, Peggy, Reno and Kristine. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 2:00pm at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
