A 28-year-old Reno man was arrested Tuesday afternoon when Carson City sheriff's deputies found him allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
Sean Alan Holloman was charged with statutory sexual seduction, the commission of sexual acts in public (both felonies), and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor. He was released on bail Wednesday.
Someone called the sheriff's office to report that a male and a female were having sex on the grass in the shared back yard of a residential area in east-central Carson City. Deputies arrived and reported finding the couple engaged in the act.
Holloman, a piano teacher for a music lesson business in Reno, gave deputies a valid driver's license, and the girl told them she was 16 years old, according to the arrest report. The deputy reported learning that she was only 15 after further investigation.
Detective Salvador Acosta with the Carson City Sheriff's Office, who is investigating the case, said Holloman traveled to Carson City to visit the girl, whom he had known for several months but who was not a student of his. He said Holloman has no previous criminal history.
Acosta said the girl told him that her parents knew of the relationship and told her to stop. She told him that Holloman then looked up the laws, Acosta said.
"So they knew it was wrong," Acosta said.
Acosta said Holloman teaches about two students per week but was not specific about their ages.
