Health inspections

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Nov. 8. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:• Capitol Shell, 1462 S. Carson St., scored 90 points. Sandwiches prepared on site have no “prepared on” or “use by” date on the label, corrected on site. Found several quarts of motor oil stored along side bottled drinks and plastic single serve ware and above packaged foods. A bag of onions was found stored directly under the paper towel dispenser at the kitchen hand sink, corrected on site. There is no sanitizer bucket set up in the kitchen area, corrected on site. The inside areas of the upper half of the main ice machine are dirty. The floor is dirty in the 3-C sink area of the kitchen. At least one employee must be a certified food handler during all hours of food handling operations.• Carson City Municipal Golf Course Eagle’s Landing, 3999 Centennial Park Drive, scored 96 points. The ice machine needs cleaning to remove bio film and calcium carbonate build-up. The ice scoop storage container is not clean. The floor sinks and the floor area behind the grills need to be cleaned. The fan guards in the walk-in and inside the reach-in at the front service counter need to be cleaned.• Carson City Municipal Golf Course Bar/ Lounge, 3999 Centennial Park Drive, scored 94 points. There is no chlorine sanitizer present during the final rinse cycle of the dish washer. One speed gun holster is dirty with bio film build-up.• Country Store, 3389 E. Highway 50, scored 100 points.• Domino’s Pizza, 3231 E. Highway 50, scored 100 points.• El Charro Avitia, 4389 S. Carson St., scored 96 points. There is no measurable chlorine sanitizer issuing during the final rinse cycle. During priming, there is no sanitizer issuing form the supply hose inside the machine.• El Pollo Loco, 1923 E. Highway 50, scored 100 points.• Gold Dust West Express Snack Bar, 2171 E. Highway 50, scored 100 points.• Jack in the Box, 3225 Retail Drive, scored 100 points.• Jack in the Box, 3665 S. Carson St., scored 96 points. Manager was not wearing gloves or using tongs, etc. while preparing ready-to-eat customer food, repeat violation and corrected on site. The reach-in at the drive-through window has no thermometer inside. The fan guards inside the reach-in units located to the right of the grill and to the left of the fryers are dirty.• Johnny Rockets, 4600 Snyder Ave. #B, scored 100 points.• The Firkin & Fox, 310 S. Carson St. #100, scored 100 points.
