"Billy" was the grandson of Judge William D. Hatton of Tonopah. His son, William D.; his grandchildren, William and Chelsea of Thousand Oaks, Calif., survive him. He also leaves behind a wife, Martha; a brother, Jack, in addition to several nieces and nephews. His father was William J. Hatton of Las Vegas and his mother was Margaret Wheat, noted author from Fallon.
Billy received the Good Conduct Medal, a Purple Heart Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation, a Korean
Service Ribbon with three stars and the United Nations Medal for his service in the US Marine Corp. Following his discharge, he taught high school science before retiring and returning to Nevada. He will be missed by all who knew him.
There will be a celebration of Billy's life, Nov. 7 in Southern California.
