Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend Dorothy Santillo, 88, passed away September 20, 2012 in Carson City, Nev. Dorothy was born May 5, 1924 in Edinburg, Pa. to Robert and Ida Hammers. She came west in 1960 calling Nevada home but never leaving her roots in Pennsylvania. She was an avid crotchetier, enjoyed outdoor activities and especially spending time with her family. Dorothy worked for the Nevada Department of Transportation as a mailroom supervisor retiring after nineteen of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel D. Santillo; brothers, Robert and Richard Hammers; and sisters, Barbara Black, Ann Wohlgemuth and Audrey Hamburg.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Samuel M. Santillo and James Brown. Daughter, Cathy Presley. Sisters, Janet Linz of New Castle, Pa. and Marlene Cameron of New Wilmington, Pa. Numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Dorothy will be deeply missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Capitol City Cremation is in charge of final arrangements.
