Monarch Casino and Resort Inc. said last week that revenues at the Atlantis during the first quarter topped $36 million, a 3.4 percent increase from a year earlier.
Earnings at the Reno casino and hotel totaled $9.3 million, up by $1.5 million from a year earlier.
The company, which also owns the Riviera Black Hawk Casino in Colorado, said EBITDA for the quarter totaled $12 million as Black Hawk contributed $11.6 million in revenue and $4 million in earnings.
John Farahi, chief executive and chairman of Monarch, said the Atlantis posted higher revenues in hotel, food and beverage operations and reduced operating costs at the Reno property boosted the bottom line by 19.3 percent from last year’s figures. — NNBW staff
