The Soldier Boys: Our militia-loving citizens will have an opportunity to glimpse the famous Washington Guard if they go to the station at 10 a.m. as they pass through Carson on the way to Bower’s Mansion, for the occasion of its first annual picnic. This is the most gorgeously uniformed company on the coast, having taken the style of the English artillery uniforms.

Caledonia picnic (continued from Wednesday). The racing was very exciting. The ladies race showed such twinkling of pretty feet and flashing of embroidered hosiery only seen at a Caledonia picnic where the fair sex runs to win. They carried out the unusual program most charmingly.
