A 57-year-old woman died after being stabbed by a family member in her South Lake Tahoe home sometime before 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to a South Lake Tahoe Police Department news release.
Police arrested Sean-Paul Andrew MacIntire, 32, on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Shirley Gordon. He has been booked into El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe. It is unknown if he has an attorney.
According to the release, Gordon was sleeping on the couch at 1181 Wildwood Ave., a residence shared between Gordon, MacIntire and his mother, who was not identified by police.
About 1:45 a.m., police received a 911 call from MacIntire’s mother, who reported her son had stabbed Gordon. The woman reportedly said she believed Gordon was dead. During the call the woman said she thought MacIntire was still in the home, according to the release.
“Medical personnel then immediately attempted to revive the victim,” the release stated. “Resuscitation efforts continued while she was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital by ambulance, where she was declared deceased.”
MacIntire was arrested on site.
Detectives have obtained a search warrant of the home and are working to determine how and why the suspected crime was committed.
Police have asked for anyone with information about the incident to call the department at 530-542-6100 or Secret Witness at 530-541-6800.
