Gorilla. Dr. Colton has just received and has on exhibition a specimen type of Darwin’s most highly developed original man. The fierce brute has been tamed enough to sing for customers:

He (not the baboon) sells you gargling oil, things that make the old blood new and to bring flowing tresses on the bald scalp. All are available at a moment’s notice.

The Niagra is now a regular mail and passenger steamer of Lake Tahoe. It leaves Glenbrook at 7 a.m. and makes the entire tour of the lake, reaching Glenbrook at 1:30 p.m., connecting to stages to Carson. J.T. Todman, Commander.

X-Ray skirt hits capital. During the past week, the Parisian X-Ray Skirt, which shows the outline of a woman’s figure through the diaphanous drapery when the sun is in the right place, has made its appearance in Carson. They know best what they want and it hardly becomes a newspaper to attempt to arbitrate questions of fashion.

Harold G. Neilson of Wabuska, Nevada, was among the 75 names listed by the war department as killed in action.

State and local officials, led by Gov. Grant Sawyer, toured the Lake Tahoe area proposed for a state park by jeep caravan. The purpose of the caravan was to familiarize legislators and state officials as to the land up for consideration.
Trent Dolan is the son of Bill Dolan, who wrote this column for the Nevada Appeal from 1947 until his death in 2006.

A Moslem religious leader from Pakistan who claims to be 159 years old is in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin for a checkup. Sayed Adbdul Mahood claims he was born Dec. 23, 1823, and says he has a son in Russia well over 100.
