Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Dec. 5. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:
Mom & Pop’s Diner, 224 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.
Taqueria Uruapan, 4601 Goni Road, Suite A, 97 points. Foods prepared on-site and stored in the cold units were not properly labeled. The “use-by” date on a gallon of milk was expired. Metal shavings were found on the can opener. Bins holding clean utensils and silverware needed to be cleaned inside.
Jack in the Box, 3225 Retail Drive, 96 points. There was no measurable chlorine sanitizer residual after the final rinse cycle of the dishwasher while in active use, corrected on-site.
Gold Dust West, Ole Ole, 2171 U.S. Highway 50 E., 94 points. The main dishwasher was not sanitizing dishes with the posted 180 degrees at the manifold. Two knives were improperly stored between a reach-in unit and the hot holding unit, corrected on-site. The wiping cloth storage bucket in the preparation area by the dishwasher had no measurable Quat residual sanitizer in it during active service, corrected on-site. The main dispenser for the Quat solution was dispensing a concentration of 400 parts per million in mildly warm water. On a follow-up inspection, the restaurant scored 100 points.
