Innovative Drive Corporation will move its manufacturing and research-and development functions to Reno from Redwood City, Calif.

The company expects to have 12 full-time employees making an average wage of more than $21 an hour in Reno within five years, said President Luke Clauson.

It will invest about $1 million in its Reno facilities.

The company provides custom engineering and design of manufactured products.

Innovative Drive has leased 9,843 square feet at 5470 Louie Lane. Executives have said they expect the facility to be operational by July 1.

The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, which is working with Innovative Drive on its move, said it was assisted by the State Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the City of Reno, Par Tolles of Basin Street Properties and Dave Simonsen of NAI Alliance.
