Audition, show dates change for ‘Taming of the Shrew’

The Proscenium Players have revised the times and dates of auditions and performances for their production of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew.”An open audition for ages 16 and older is set for 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Silver State Charter School Performing Arts Center, 900 Mallory Road, Carson City.Performances will be June 14-16, June 21-23 and June 28-29 at the Brewery Arts Center.The play, directed by Jeff Fast and performed in traditional Shakespearean language and style, tells the story of a rich merchant who won’t allow his daughter to marry until her shrewish older sister does. The main plot depicts the courtship of Petruchio, a gentleman of Verona, and Katherina, the shrew. For more information, call 775-220-3457.
