General Moly Inc. said last week it's been granted a permit from the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada to construct a 230-kilovolt power line to serve its planned Mt. Hope molybdenum mine near Eureka.
The line will run 25 miles from a substation near Eureka to a substation near the mine.
General Moly said it's negotiating for generating capacity to serve the mine, which will have a demand of about 75 megawatts at full operation.
