Clarence Alvin Kennison was born Aug. 16, 1924 in Walla Walla, Wash. and died at ease on Jan. 2, 2013 at Carson Tahoe Continuing Care Hospital in Carson City, Nev. at age 88.
Clarence grew up in Hermiston, Oregon and married his grade school love, Wanda Elaine Dunning in 1944 in Portland. He joined the Merchant Marines during WWII, serving on troop carriers. He worked for the Blachy Lane Electric and then EWEB in Eugene as Chief Hydro Operator on the Carmen Smith Project on the McKenzie River. Clarence and Wanda located in Carson City, Nev. after his retirement in 1988. Pre-retirement, Clarence enjoyed fishing; and, post retirement he made many friends at Carson Station playing their games.
Clarence is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 69 years, Wanda. He was a dignified, gentle and trustworthy companion for her and their friends.
Services will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church (SW corner of Division and Telegraph) on Jan. 16, 2013 at 1 p.m. Please make appreciated donations to the charity of your choice in Clarence's memory. Thank you.
