Stephanie Louise Minko (formerly Mayhorn) passed into the light of our loving God on Jan. 7, 2013 due to many health challenges. She is survived by her adoring father, Steve Minko; her beloved, Lee Moore; doting brothers, Andrew Minko, Michael Minko, Peter Minko, John Minko, Steve B.C. Minko; and many close friends. Stephanie was tireless in her service to others as a volunteer with Friends in Service Helping (FISH) and the contributor of hundreds of hand-crocheted blankets for our nation's brave men and women at Veterans Hospitals over many years. Although not a veteran herself, she received a letter of appreciation from the Veterans of Foreign Wars for her long-standing support. Everyone at the Horseshoe Club joins in remembering Stephanie as a friendly, outgoing, and generous soul. Stephanie was born in Southern California in 1963, but always processed the confidence and resolve of a Nevada pioneer woman. Her strength of character as well as her exceptional crocheting skills were learned from her late mother, Sabina Louise Minko. In her youth, she was a loyal member of the philanthropic group International Order of Job's Daughters and her dedication was recognized when she was chosen to serve as Honored Queen of Bethel 57, Wilmington. She was a long-time resident of Nevada and enjoyed her final years in Carson City.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the Autumn Funeral Home, 1575 North Lompa Lane, Carson City, NV 89701 with the Rev. Dixie Jennings-Teats officiating.
