Mike Whan has been named vice president, business development for United Construction Company.
Whan retired as Reno deputy chief of police in June 2012 after 23 years of service. Prior to his services with the Reno Police Department, he held his residential real estate license in Nevada and was involved in real estate development projects in the Reno area.
Whan earned a bachelors of arts degree in criminal justice from the University of Nevada, Reno and graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va., and the Senior Management Institute for Police in Boston.
