Sewer issues: Jake Klein complains of an inundation of washhouse and stable water that flows down past the rear of the old Mason & Hoff store and back of Sam Wright’s coffin shop ... the water flows from the carriage washings and general slops of Winnie David’s stable and from the Chinese washing establishment ... Survey: A national survey on the problem of alcoholism has given Nevada an image that may change the state motto from “Battle Born” to “Bottle Bearing.” A survey completed by Rutgers University Center of Alcohol Studies shows that Nevada has the highest percentage of alcoholics and alcohol consumption of any of the 50 states.
