Z Line Kitchen and Bath recently leased 22,400 square feet of distribution space at 984 E. Greg St. in Sparks to better serve its West Coast customers.
Z Line Kitchen and Bath sells stainless steel kitchen range hoods. Previously, Andy Zuro, president of The Range Hood Store, serviced Western region customers from his retail outlet in Columbus, Ohio. Zuro needed a large location because he’s moved into a wholesale role for Z Line Kitchen and Bath rather than the direct-to-consumer model he’s operated under at The Range Hood Store.
Zuro settled on a northern Nevada location for his first expansion after plugging Zip Codes of different cities into a FedEx map. Reno was the most strategic location to reach customers in California, Oregon, Washington and Utah, Zuro found.
Locating operations in Sparks cuts down on shipping costs and wait times, a key element in contractors’ remodeling plans.
“We needed space, and it just made sense with the number of orders going to the West Coast,” Zuro says. “It will reduce wait times for customer to receive products, and a lot of time that is the deciding factor for customers doing remodels.
“Also, from a financial end it saves us per package — a lot of times it’s reduced in half if it’s going to California, Oregon or Washington.”
Tom Miller of Miller Industrial Properties helped Zuro find a location and with lease negotiatons. Z Line Kitchen and Bath will employ two people as it launches its business.
