The family of a Carson City man killed in Stateline Aug. 10 in a hit-and-run hopes someone saw something that will lead to the person who hit him.

Cody J. Dobson, 31, was found lying on U.S. Highway 50 just east of the casino core. He died from his injuries Aug. 23.

Dobson might have been walking on the highway or stumbled off the adjacent sidewalk just east of the MontBleu Resort Casino just prior to being struck, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

A witness who stopped to render aid said he saw Dobson lying in the eastbound lanes, and that when he turned to help, he saw a full-size blue Dodge pickup hit the man.

Trooper Chuck Allen said the pickup might have a camper shell matching the color of the pickup.

Dobson was taken by ambulance to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe, then flown by helicopter to Renown Regional Medical Center, where he died.

Dobson showed signs of intoxication at the scene and the hospital, troopers said.

His family set up an account with US Bank if anyone would like to donate money. The account number is 153755984306.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Doug Hildebrand of the Major Accident Investigation Team at 775-689-4623 or dhildebrand@dps.state.nv.us regarding case number NHP-130800861.

Witnesses may also contact the Department of Public Safety-Communications Center at 775-687-0400.
