God has brought fire because of our sins

Make no mistake about it, America! God Almighty has sent these wildfires that burn throughout the west and the drought — that’s the fuel God’s using to spread the flames. Amos 4:7: “And also I have witholden the rain from you.”

We’ve forsaken God and His true word, the King James Bible, for paraphrases, false books, women now stand in pulpits where God never called them and because of it, the church house has become an entertainment center and emotional basket case. That too is a judgment of God against His house. The Rick Warrens, Joel Osteens (the list goes on) are a judgment from God. In His house, they’re false teachers.

The White House is filled with corruption and corrupters, perverted laws are being passed that go against God’s word daily, and it all can be laid at the doorstep of God’s house.

The church house is the front line of safety for any nation. If it falls, the nation falls. I pray for the sake of our nation that if it takes the burning up of every sacred cow America now holds dear to wake people up, then I hope God burns them all down. If that’s what it’s going to take to save this nation and the souls of its people then God, burn it down!

Keep an eye out for kids in school zones

Come on people! School has started. Pay attention — school zones have a speed limit of 15 miles per hour. The worst offenders: 22-year-old women dropping off their kindergarten kids ages 5 and 6. New mothers in new situations driving like hell 50 miles per hour in a school zone.

You mothers are the ones that should obey the speed laws. Come on. You’d be the first to complain if your kid was squashed by a driver doing 30 in a school zone. You 20-30 year old new mothers of new kids in school should adhere to the rules and regulations. Don’t be whipping through a school zone in your mini van at 45 miles per hour. Cool your jets. Be careful out there.

School not place to talk sexual preference

In response to the article about the Gay-Straight Alliance club convening at Carson High School that appeared in the Aug. 18 issue of the Nevada Appeal, I wanted to share a thought or two.

I am old enough to remember being taught sexual education (the biology) in public school with parent consent, but it is very surprising for me to see that now the public schools are providing a place for students to come together so they can discuss each other’s sexual preferences and orientations. Are our kids not exposed to sex enough already through magazines, movies, and music videos? Now the administration feels it necessary to discuss it at school, a place where they should be putting more of their focus and efforts toward their futures. How is knowing the sexual orientation of fellow classmates going to make our children better students? In the work place we are discouraged to discuss another person’s sexual orientation, but our schools feel its OK to do that very thing on campus among minors. Our schools adapted a policy of “don’t ask, don’t tell,” but in this case, the school is disregarding one of the very principals it proclaims to instill.

It’s easy to see that the times are indeed changing, but lets not forget Hebrews 13:8, Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever. In other words, just because the times change doesn’t mean the rules do. God bless.

More logging would help prevent wildfires

How many more disastrous fires do we have to experience before the obvious solution is found? The forests are overgrown and in poor health.

I believe the answer is to bring back the logging companies. The government would make enough money to cover the costs of running the department and our forests would be brought back to a sustainable state. This is the way it used to be done and perhaps needs to happen again!

Auditor should look at Animal Services

As with most events, there is probably more to the recent animal control apparent atrocity which is known only to some people “on the inside.” To determine what really happened and why, as well as what corrective actions should be taken, the investigation should be taken out of the “chain of command” by engaging an independent auditor to investigate the situation and make recommendations. That report should then be disseminated to public.

People in the management chain always have political considerations which cause them to spin the facts. In addition, they often have mistaken knowledge of what is happening below them because, among other things, there is a propensity for them to be told what is thought to be what they want to hear. I would hate for this unfortunate situation to simply fade away after only a slap on the wrist if more than that is appropriate or if someone who should be vindicated is not vindicated.

What I have said should be taken as credible because I spent a career in governmental internal auditing doing all types of audits. This included managerial and compliance audits and involved investigations which included the lowest level personnel up to and including department heads, county executive and board of supervisors members.

Reid needs a new paintbrush

Sen. Reid wants to talk color? Here are some colors for the senator.

Black is good — if our nation was fiscally solvent. Red is bad — we are not fiscally solvent. Clear (transparency) is letting the citizens know the facts, not with “I know nothing about it” statements and cover-ups, i.e. Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the IRS, the NSA, et al.

White is for the college student in Oklahoma killed by three black teens because they were bored. The national media didn’t cover it like they did Trayvon Martin. Not Obamaesque enough for them? Yellow is for our Senate and Congress not having the intestinal fortitude to do what we elected them to do. Quit spending private citizens’ money on pet government projects, illegal immigrants, Obamacare, stimulus projects, food stamps, Welfare, long-term unemployment benefits, et al.

Our Senate and Congress are abhorrent. Sen. Reid, start leading and maybe you can paint (with colors) a different picture for we the people.
