The U.S. Department of Transportation approved grants for work at rural airports across northern Nevada, U.S. Sen. Harry Reid said last week. The projects to be funded include:
Reno-Stead Airport: $337,500 for design of a project to rehabilitate a taxiway and $300,000 for purchase of snow-removal equipment.
Carson City Airport: $1.38 million for rehabilitation of the airport’s apron.
Winnemucca Municipal Airport: $234,375 to acquire land for approaches, $75,000 to update the airport’s master plan, and $99,375 to install perimeter fencing.
Hawthorne Industrial Airport: $2.7 million for rehabilitation of the apron.
Jackpot/Hayden Field: $75,000 to update the airport’s master plan.
